Daniel Strebe

About

Daniel “daan” Strebe is a computer scientist on Tableau’s maps team. He has much experience with

  • Numerical methods
  • Geospatial
  • Japanese and CJK text processing and layout
  • Page layout
  • Prepress

He self-medicates by pondering map projections. This is a frequent need. It results in reams of software and research papers.

Before Tableau, daan worked at Live Nation, Adobe Systems, his own start-up in Cupertino and Tokyo, Apple Computer, and a few other small concerns.

Focus

  • Tableau mapping capabilities. Numerical methods. Map projections.
